It's been a while and I'm blaming it on Hawaiian time...

As my title announces, it's been a while. I'm sorry, truly. I know it's slightly annoying for a few of you that the absence has been so long, but I'm back and ready to make amends. A lot has happened since November so it's going to take me several posts to get you all updated. To make this task MUCH harder, my internet with Oceanic Time Warner SUCKS (I'm not sure I have emphasized that point, or word as it is, enough so I'm going to reiterate it) SUCKS, making getting posts up in a timely, "let-me-not-fall-asleep-and-drool-on-my-keyboard" manner highly improbable. So please, bear with me as I attempt to ease your curiosity of the past seven-ish months of my life in paradise.

Now not only am I going to update you on my Hawaiian adventures, I've decided to revamp the purpose of my blog a little bit. For those who may stumble upon my humble writings because you are trying to research moving/living in Hawaii, I'm going to make it part of my mission to help with that. However, do not get too bored on me so immediately, it's not going to be ridiculously educational, simply amusingly helpful. So while I will write and show you pictures that showcase the beauty of Hawaii, I'm also going to add in some reality, and reality can be (at times) not so picturesque.

So, if you're not completely impatient with the above declaration, check back very soon, there's paradise to be had!

All this hiking I may soon be the next Meriwether Lewis. Now where's my Clark?

Cherry guava on our hike. Nothing like free food.

Guava.

Cardiac hill is, well, quite the cardiac challenge. At least at my pace.

Not all hikes have trails. Sometimes you have to improvise. And it's fun.

Pathway to hell might be hellish in the hiking, but heaven at the top.

It might be prudent to watch your step on the edge of this vista point.

This is "Lost", without all the scary stuff.

Pretty well the epitome of Hawaii!
My new favorite place to run.

Lots of obstacles.

Ceremony ground.
